Successful Dewatering of Acid Mine Drainage Materials

During the construction of interstate 99, PA, pyretic rock from previous mining was uncovered, that when exposed to oxygen and water creates heavy metals and acids. Over 700,000 cubic yards of pyretic rock was uncovered and allowed to drain into settling ponds. From here GeotubeĀ® and polymer technology was able to trap the hazardous material.
